I am currently attempting to obtain information on what programs
are available for the management of medium to large bacterial
strain collections. Although several commercial or shareware
programs were once available for the IBM, these programs are now
probably very outdated.
Is anyone aware of some recent IBM or MacIntosh programs that would
be suitable for managing a larger laboratory strain collection? If
so, please e-mail to me any information available regarding source,
features, system requirements and price. Alternatively, many labs have
developed in-house programs for such purposes; if any of you are using
such a program, I'd be very interested in learning about the features
that make it useful or unique.
