Hello everyone,

For the project I'm working on, it is necessary to order genes 'uncovered'
by deletions done on a fruit fly's chromosome; that is, if a
piece of a chromosome is removed, genes 'a b c d e' are removed as well,
and if an adjacent piece is removed, genes 'd e f g' are removed. Examining a
number of these overlapping deletions will reveal the (sometimes)
unambiguous ordering of the genes. This is a non-trivial software task
(at least for me) so I wonder if there is free- or shareware software
that anyone knows about that will perform this sort of gene mapping
through deletion analysis.

Thanks!
