Try MacMosaic. The current version is
ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu:/Mac/Mosaic/NCSAMosaicMac.B6.sit.Hqx
You can save any "page" as a text file. You also get access to the
whole WWW (World Wide Web), which includes gopher as a subset.
