I've been reading some of the comments about the software
needs, pricing complaints, etc., with a bit of a smile on my face.
You summarized the situation "most excellently 8-)." Most programmers
can get decent paying jobs in industry. They usually don't work for
free, although there may be a few noble exceptions to the rule. This
is only one of the *many* costs involved. Reinhard Doelz alluded to
this earlier as well.
I do think that the original thread of this discussion, i.e.,
a software wish list, is a great idea, and would encourage people to
speak up.
