This discussion came just in time !
I am working on a Windows based 486DX and plannig to buy something
good but not too expensive to capture image data. (graphics, pictures,
gel images, radiographies, ... )
The first thing that came to my mind was a hand-held color scanner,
but a friend told me it is very hard to put two parts of an image
together when you have something large.
After this I started considering desktop scanners and image digitizers
to capture images from video cameras.
Does anyone have experience with any of these three kinds of peripherals ?
I would like to know about their image quality (resolution, colors, ...)
and "bugs".
Thanks for any info.
