On the Finnish EMBnet gopher I have added the following option
to help you find software. Archie is good if you want to find host and
directories... but what if you would want the README's which outline
the use of certain programmes.
Gimme that thing... (Search Archie readme's)
--> 1. FTP README's from ARCHIE (30,000 in total spaning 100MB) <?>
2. Macintosh README'S from ARCHIE <?>
3. PC README'S from ARCHIE <?>
Option 1 is rather good and I have been able to get info about CLUSTALV,
MACPATTERN, and MACAW. By giving keywords you can get the documentation
for many PD software programmes related to biocomputing. Try it out.
