We use the seqed program from the GCG software package which is running
on a UNIX box here at FCCC. I don't know the details of the connection, I
think the digitizer (IBI) is connected via a serial port and the terminal
(IBM clone) is connected via ethernet to the mini computer. The software
works well. My personal opinion is that it works better that the IBI software
which we purchased with the original gel reader. This was by far the most
cost effective solution for us as FCCC already supported the GCG package so
we just had to pay for the serial connection.
