Yes it is a small subset of all the bibliographic information contained in
Medline. However it does contain all papers that contain DNA or peptide
sequence. Plus the Entrez software can search the sequence databases and
homology databases contained on the CD-ROM. You can move between sequence,
bibliographic and homology information very very easily. Another feature
of Entrez and the NCBI CD-ROM allows you to find similar papers a group of
papers, sort of like a bibliographic homology search. I have often used
this last feature to find a citation where I didn't remember the author or
the specific subject of the paper of interest.
