I'm looking for inexpensive/public domain software for modeling protein
topology, preferably for Macintosh. What I would like is to be able to
enter a protein sequence using the single letter code and have the letters
show up inside circles. Then I would like to be able to push/pull/drag the
"string" into a specific topological orientation in a membrane, including
the depiction of transmembrane helices. Is there such a thing, or are the
models typically seen in papers concerning protein topology in membranes
"artist's renditions"?
Thanks for any tips.
