We have just tried eXodus from White Pine. By and large it is very good.
Also, it works nicely in color! (I was not able to get MacX working in color,
but that is not saying much necessarily...). I particularly like the Motif-
style rootless windows. It really needs a Mac with lots of memory (they
recommend 4mb to run DECwindows, and I agree, but you can get by with 3mb:
dedicated to eXodus, that is, if you only want 1-2 windows on the screen.
Finally you need a big screen: the 13" one is just too little space to get
more than one window on and have rrom for anything more... WE intend to run
on ci's with 20mb memory and 20" screens. It should be great: on a Quadra it
should be spectacular!
