On most Unix machines you will have nslookup which will give you the IP number
if you supply the IP node name, and to go the other way around you have host
to give you the IP nod name from a IP number.
I recently obtained a utility called nslook which will jump either way
give it a number and it will return a name... give it a name and it will
return a number.
