After getting the software installed by our systems group, the use of
WAIS itself was very easy in my opinion. If any of you have used IRX
on the GenBank On-line Service e.g., through the free dial-up account,
I would venture the opinion that WAIS is easier to use than IRX, but it
lacks Boolean (AND/OR) search capabilities. IRX does a much better
job of searching. I'm sure that these problems with WAIS will
eventually be fixed (remember that this is still a beta version).
