PIR release 27 is available for anonymous FTP from menudo.uh.edu,
129.7.1.6, in the directory ~ftp/pub/genbank-server/pir.
The files are:
pir1.dat.Z The full database-only files
pir2.dat.Z in compressed format, use
pir3.dat.Z binary mode to tranfer.
pir1.seq.Z the database in Pearson FASTA format.
pir2.seq.Z compressed; use binary mode to transfer!
pir3.seq.Z
pir1.doc.Z The indices for each of the three divisions,
pir2.doc.Z also in compressed format, so use
pir3.doc.Z binary mode to transfer these files
pir.other.Z The general .lis, .txt, and other files from the release.
Same cautions apply.
pir-readme.first -- PIR copyright and db information. Plain text file.
