Yes, I use endnote for the Mac. I find it EXTREMELY useful. The way
it can gobble up output from online or CD-ROM searches, and transform
it into database entries, is quite remarkable. Incidentally, you can
transfer in entries from your old database, if you can produce a file
with each author preceded by %A, each title by %T, etc. It will also
automatically save abstracts, should your online search have produced
them.
Two caveats: any formatting in titles is lost (eg species names in
italics, which is tough for some areas of biology), and
and when you take a citation to include in a manuscript, you must
COPY it. If you inadvertantly CUT it, it is removed from your database
without further ado!
