MICROARRAY FACILITY DIRECTOR
The Harvard-Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics seeks a highly
motivated individual to be Director of its Microarray Facility. Located in
a new state-of-the-art research building in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this
Facility is dedicated to producing spotted glass slide DNA microarrays for
genome-wide expression profiling in human and several model organism
systems. The Director will manage a team dedicated to all aspects of
microarray design, production and utilization, develop strict quality
control measures for the Facility, conduct targeted research and
development projects, assess new commercial technologies as they become
available, implement bioinformatics support for the laboratory efforts,
offer technology training workshops and consult with Facility users on
experimental design and troubleshooting issues.
Prior expression profiling and laboratory robotics experience, strong
computer skills and an advanced degree in a relevant biological field are
essential. Managerial background in an industrial or biotechnology setting
is preferred.
