The position is for a Bioinformatics Programmer and is located in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
You will be bridging the gap between biochemistry and algorithms that
process DNA sequence data, you will work closely with Biochemists,
Algorithm Developers and Software Testers to establish and validate
performance of the next generation genetic analysis tools.
You will test algorithms written in Matlab, C++ or Java,
which are designed to process DNA sequence data.
Tasks include writing test plans/test cases, selecting statistically sound
test suites from large data sets, writing test tools and generating reports.
Requires a Masters or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biological
Sciences, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related technical degree (or
equivalent experience).
Requires knowledge and skills in:
C/C++/Java programming and the ability to
write test tools, test plans/test cases.
General knowledge in biochemistry is essential. Matlab programming skills,
probe design and/or statistical data analysis is a big plus.
The pay scale is from $60000 to $75000 and is a contract position for 6
months with a possibility of full time hire.
