Dear ABI3100 users, has anyone experienced the same
problems we currently go through?
We are now strugglung since 5 weeks to hook up our new ABI 3100 to our
inhouse network.
The problem we see is the following: As long as we run the instrument in
local mode (Novell Network Client 4.6, service pack 2 not installed)
everything works fine (2 runs/day over one week).=20
When we install Novell, everything works fine for about 2 runs (the new
Collection Software 1.0.1 as well as network access run smoothly).
Typically, during the 3rd run, Dr.Watson for NT Error Messages start to pop
up,=20
and the run may or may not abort.=20
Error messages look like this:
An application error has occurred, could not attach to the application.
Windows NT error code=3D87,
or
An application error has occurred, server.exe, exception: access
violation (0x0000005, address: 0x0045f8ab)
>From then on, the communication between PC and instrument is worsening
everytime Collection Software is started, subsequent runs typically abort=
=20
in the very moment the collection of data starts or at the end of sample
file=20
extraction. However the network can still be accessed without problems.
In agreement with ABI we exchanged one of the two identical 3Com
Ethernetcards for a different brand card with its own set of drivers to mak=
e
sure we have no addressing mismatch. The problem, however, persists.
ABI also installed a new Dell workstation because they suspected a hardware
problem,
but that did not help either.
We have not changed the user name that ABI prescribes, but we have entered =
a
password to start=20
Windows NT.
Any of you experienced a similar problem?
