The HGMP Resource Centre, located on the Genome
Campus in Hinxton, near Cambridge, is playing a
central role in a large scale UK-wide Comparative
Genomics Project. The project is described at

Sequence Finishing Team Leader
Ref: HGMP/0101/9

The successful candidate will lead a close-knit team
of 5 finishers involved in all stages of the genomic
sequence contiguating and editing. Furthermore he/she
will liaise closely with the sequencing team leader,
the computing support team and report to the group
leader. X-windows applications form the mainstay of
the job but laboratory work will also be involved.

The post requires a good knowledge of all aspects of
genome sequencing; with experience in finishing also

The starting salary is likely to be in the range of
20,000 - 24,000 GBP per annum (MRC Pay Band 4)
depending on qualifications and previous experience.

DNA Sequence Editor/Finisher
Ref: HGMP/101/14

We are looking for one more finisher to complete our
team at the HGMP Resource Centre.

Your role would be to assemble and edit sequence to
99.99% accuracy whilst leading two or three clone
projects simultaneously to agreed schedules. You
should have experience of automated DNA sequencing or
sequence analysis and be able to demonstrate a
meticulous approach to work when faced with demanding

Starting salary will be in the range of 16,000 -
19,000 GBP per annum (MRC Pay Band 5) depending on
qualifications and previous experience.
