General Statement of Duties:
To manage a fee-for-use facility serving the computing needs of biologist at
UMass-Amherst and elsewhere. Experience with systems management of UNIX (IRIX)
computer, including OS upgrades and installation of Genetics Computer Group and
other genetics and bioinformatics software, and familiarity with use of GCG,
NCBI, and other web based molecular biology tools necessary. Experience with web
site construction and excellent communication skills highly desirable.
Qualifications:
1. B.S. or higher degree in Biology, Chemistry or Computer Science.
Hiring Salary Range: $13,950 - $17,450 Normal Starting Salary: $13,950 -
$15,700. Part-time (50%) position.
