A technician position is open in the DNA Sequencing and Genotyping
Facilities of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The primary
responsibilities of the position include performance of sequencing and
genotyping with the ABI 377 system in a high throughput facility
laboratory. Responsibilities include preparation of samples, pouring gels,
operation of automated sequencers, computer analysis of primary data,
record keeping, data management, ordering supplies and general lab
maintenance. The position includes participation in the development of new
techniques and in testing new technologies. The applicant must be able to
work both independently and as part of a team, be detail oriented, possess
good communication skills, be experienced with computers, and be familiar
with basic molecular biology techniques. Experience in automated DNA
sequencing or genotyping is preferred. A bachelor's degree in biology or
chemistry or related science and at least 1-2 years lab experience are
