We use the Kloen pipetting system. This works well. It was a steep
learning curve and we went through a lot of needles in the first couple
of weeks, but once the techs learned how to use it, it became less
expensive than disposable tips. The nice part about the Kloen is that
the tips are small enough that you can load the wells from the bottom
up, which is the way PEbiosystems recommends. It makes a difference in
the resolution of the bands.
Robbins has a new pipettor out that has flexible tips. That might be
interesting to try, but we aren't willing to buy one to try it.
