We have three Tetrads and experienced the same problems. Evidently,
they started seeing these types of troubles when they switched sealing
materials on the Alpha units, which then had difficulty with
condensation on the heat/cool block. This condensation could then leak
into the base unit & cause shorts there. We now have one repaired
Tetrad back and it seems to be functioning very well (no problems in 2
months), so they seem to have fixed the problems.
