At long last I have upgraded my 373A (only yesterday) to a Stretch (34
cm wtr with normal plates) and XL (64 samples/gel).
I know the info has probably being posted before, but things change
rapidly in this field, so can some kind sole answer the following
questions for me.
1. With the normal 42 cm plates, with 34 cm wtr, what is the usual
sequence read length that can be obtained (500, 600, 700 bases ?)
2. To get the maximum read, what gel is used (4%, 4.5%, 4.75% ?) and
what is the gel (acrylamide/bis or FMC longranger ?)
3. What are the usual run parameters, length of run (12, 14 hours ?) and
what do you set the run to (Watts, Volts, Amps, Temperature).
