The home dishwahers would probably be OK for plates if fed with
deionised water. Where they fall down is washing flasks or similar
because you can't get a jet inside them. Washing outside surfaces like
plates should be fine.


The problem with being on the cutting edge is that you occasionally get 
sliced from time to time....
