I have been running an ABI377 with 36cm/4.25% acrylamide gels at 3kV/2.5
hrs (Genescan). Recently I have experienced runs in which areas of the
gel are 'faded' or even totally blank eg. rox markers and PCR products
are not visible over 160 bp in the the central portion of the gel. Has
anyone else come across this? I have tried soaking plates in 0.1M
sodium hydroxide for 30 min. Any ideas?
