Hi Macky,
The problem with the melted combs (i.e. arcing) is a familiar one. This
problem occurred 3 times and every time the buffer in the buffer chamber
was below the glass plate. The 377 that we own is only 4 months old. It
was discovered that our upper chamber leaked which was evident by the
buildup of crystal on the bottom of the cooling plate as well as an
elevated level of buffer in the bottom chamber. After calling ABI, it
was evident that the problem is the white gasket in the upper chamber.
With some further discussions the tecnical specialist (1800-831-6844)
sent me a replacement 36 comb, a new gasket and some gasket silicone. I,
then removed the old gasket and glue, filled the canal with gasket
silicone, When almost curred the new gasket was installed. After 24 Hr.
you can now use it. I have to date ran 5 separate sequence runs and the
problem is now gone.

Hope this helps.
