Flat Panels and ACeDB

Applications such as acedb use system software which completely hides any
differences there may be between CRT and LCD displays from the program. Lots of
people here at the Sanger Centre use acedb on LCD displays every day without
problems (e.g. on laptops).

To make sure that the LCD display you get is as good as your CRT you should
check that they have similar resolutions both in terms of the total number of
pixels (commonly 1280 * 1024) and in terms of pixels per inch (commonly around
100 dpi).
