Hi everybody!
I just tried to upgrade to WS9, and got stuck with some problems, and I
am seeking help.
I downloaded database.WS9.4-x.-tar.Z (x from 0 to 8), plus INSTALL, from
ftpsrv1.sanger.ac.uk.
Then csh INSTALL from within acedb directory.
I can run acedb from the command line. It says "ACEDB 4_7l, AutoAce
21/03/00 WS9" on the banner. Looks OK, then.
The problem is with gifaceserver: web access is out (I get a "Software
Error" message), and when I try to start gifaceserver from the command
line:
gifaceserver /home/Database/acedb 20000114 1200:1200:0
I get:
FATAL ERROR reported by program gifaceserver, in file aceserver.c, at
line 323: Server cannot create a magic file in the
WRITE_ACCESS_DIRECTORY /nfs/disk100/wormpub/SERVER_WRITES
