so the servert seems to hang
the bug is always on server side, the client is surely ok
one test is to start the server on a different port in foregorund
essentilaly by copy/paste the line in /etc/inetd.conf
and try the client againts it
i bet it will work
if so it has to do with the rpcgen problem
i do not know if under solaris 2.7 you uesed or did not use the
acedb patch to compile the server
try bot ways

notice that we are close to release the new socket server that
has no rpc layer and seems relaible opn all machine but of course
needs a different sort of clients
