i did not open your .gif file but i beleive it may have to do
with the default bacground color of your windows
acedb resets its background to white but only for the area it touches
under X11, if you reset the bg to red, all windows get a red border
so reset that to white
never heard of CDE so i don t know how to do tat but it must be possible
