****New sequence retrieval software installed at SGD****

New sequence retrieval software has been implemented at SGD. The new
underlying software to the existing sequence tools should allow for faster
retrieval of DNA and protein sequences.

With these tools, you can retreive any chromosomal sequence
including intergenic and coding regions. Simply enter the gene name or
sequence coordinates on the search page:
http://genome-www4.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/SGD/seqTools

Coordinates for any locus can be found on any locus page at SGD.
For example, LEU2 has coordinates from 91323 to 92417.
http://genome-www4.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/SGD/locus.pl?locus=LEU2

The performance of sequence retrieval from locus pages has also been
improved. As before, you can retrieve DNA or protein sequences from the
locus page using the "Retrieve Sequences" resource on the right side of
the page.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions on these or other
features at SGD.

Regards,
Chandra
