Postdoctoral Position:
Systems Biology of S. cerevisiae

The Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) is a non-profit research institute
with strategic alliances with industry and academe. We are presently
inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to conduct research on the
on the molecular responses of budding yeast to environmental stress.

ISB is focusing on post-genomic opportunities in systems biology, and is
committed to the development and application of new technologies necessary
for the new “discovery science” and the modeling of complex biological
systems. The Institute is pioneering a fundamental shift in how biological
research is being carried out. ISB has developed high-throughput
technologies for global analyses of cellular processes that yield large
amounts of data in functional genomics and proteomics, as well as the
computational algorithms and infrastructure to reconstitute these data into
robust models.

ISB offers an excellent environment for the scientific development of recent
doctoral graduates. Pos-Doctoral Fellows enjoy access to cutting edge
technology tools such as DNA microarrays, protein mass-spectrometry,
high-throughput cell sorting, and a dedicated yeast core facility. Our
diverse team of scientists have created a highly collaborative atmosphere
where Post-Doctoral Fellows participate in formulating multi-disciplinary
scientific approaches to research.

The successful candidate must have experience in yeast genetics, physiology
and molecular biology. The postdoctoral stipend is $35,000 per year, and the
Institute offers a comprehensive package of employer-paid benefits. Living
in Seattle also offers many recreational opportunities, such as sailing,
skiing, hiking, mountain biking, as well as cultural events that include the
symphony and opera; an internationally recognized film festival; a strong
arts, crafts, and theater community; and a vibrant jazz and popular music
