A postdoctoral position is available to study polarized growth in
Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida albicans. We are interested in
the regulation of polarized growth during different developmental
states including mating, budding, and invasive pseudohyphal/hyphal
growth. We have been examining the functions of the Rho small GTPase
Cdc42p and its exchange factor (activator) Cdc24p in different growth
states, with particular emphasis on their role in initiating and
maintaining directional growth. See Mol. Cell (2000) 5:853-864; J.
Cell Biol. (2000) 148:1115-1122; J. Cell Biol. (1999) 144:1187-1202;
Nature (1998) 391:196-198. Prior experience in biochemistry,
molecular biology, or yeast cell biology would be desirable. Send
curriculum vitae and names of three references to: Dr. Robert
