Thanks for your email. I found in our collection the plasmids 
pFA6a:His3MX, pAG60 and pAG61

"I am curious, and I have a question for the yeast community. Does 
anyone know what the "MX" stands for in "KanMX?""

Achim Wach et al (Yeast 10: 1793, 1994) define MX  
modules as hybrid gene fusions of the Tn903knar ORF under 
transcriptional and translational control of the promoter and 
terminator of the Ashbya gossypii TEF gene (kanMX module) or the 
Ashbya gossypii LEU2" gene (AgLEU2MX1 module).
M seems to be for module.
