I am currently seeking a post-doc to study the 26S proteasome in yeast.
The proteasome is an essential component of all eukaryotic cells where
it is the major route of targeted, ATP dependent protein degradtion.
The 26S proteasome is a 2.6 Md complex composed of 64 peptides.
Structure/function studies are being carried out focussing on six,
highly related ATPases. A wide range of techniques will be employed
ranging from classic yeast genetics to molecular biology, protein
purification and biochemistry.
