A research position is available on a grant-supported project to
utilize molecular biological techniques to aid in developing a vaccine
against Coccidioides immitis, the etiologic agent of the fungal
disease coccidioidomycosis. We are interested in defining and
cloning the protective antigen(s) and using these candidates in
protein or DNA-based immunization protocols. The preferred
candidate should be a resident of the U.S. or have a work permit,
have a Ph.D. or equivalent, and have recent publications in peer
reviewed journals. The preferred candidate should have
documented expertise in molecular biology or fungal genetics.
