In order to determine intracellular volume a protocol using tritiated water
and an "impermeable" substance, usually [14C]inulin is used.
Does anyone know whether it matters if the inulin is Inulin-[14C]carboxylic
acid or Inulin-[14C]methoxy. The price difference is substantial and so I
would like to order the cheapest one. Also if anyone has had experience
using a different substance, other than Inulin I would appreciate hearing.
Thanks again.
