In budding yeast cyclic-AMP regulates growth, cell cycle and differentiation. Detailed mechanisms of PKA regulatory activity inside the yeast cells are still largely unknown. We are dealing with the PKA-mediated control of mitosis and the role of subcellular localization of PKA (in collaboration with the University of Vienna, H.Ruis' group) (Anghileri et al. Exp. Cell Res. 250, 510-523 (1999); Griffioen et al, J. Biol. Chem., in press (1999)). A 3 year Ph-D position is immediately available at the Dept. of General Biochemistry and Physiology of the State University of Milan in the context of the above researches.
