Hi! We use home-made replica plating devices made of two hockey pucks glued
together. To hold the velvet, use a clamp designed for holding plastic pipe
onto a metal fitting - they are adjustable rings; the most convienient style
has a wing nut to adjust the diameter - others are adjustable with a screw
driver. Works well for the regular sized petri plates. Total cost, about
$3.00 (Can)!
