Postdoctoral Position Available
Tufts University School of Medicine-NEMC
Boston, MA
We have an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to
work in the field of molecular signaling and peptide-protein
recognition. The project focuses on the yeast mating
peptide-receptor and the human thrombin receptor. These
receptors activate signal transduction pathways culminating
in mitotic arrest in the case of the yeast system
and mitotic activation in the case of the thrombin
receptor. Molecular biology techniques will be used to
construct recombinant receptors and express these receptors
in yeast strains. Receptors will be characterized by
various genetic and biochemical methods. Insight into the
molecular interactions between these peptides and their cognate
receptors should provide leads for the development of anti-
thrombotic agents.
The laboratory is located within the Center of Hemostasis
and Thrombosis Research, a modern, state-of-the-art facility
with a staff of 20 investigators including technical support.
Candidates with training in yeast genetics who would like to
acquire expertise in protein chemistry are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should send a letter describing their
research interests, a CV, and names of three references to:
