Dear Namjin,

Greetings again! I presume that you are thinking of a synthetic lethal screen.
A paper that describes this procedure in quite good detail is A.Bender and 
J.R.Prigle (1991) Molecular and Cellular Biology, volume 11, 1295-1305. There 
are other methods of carrying out a synthetic lethal screen , details of which 
I'll send on to you if you are interested.
