In experiments with heat curing of killer viruses, I have found no yeast that
grows above 38.5 C, with most non-ts strains not growing above 37 C. I suspect
that higher temperatures are fairly deleterious for many strains with or
without plasmids, and also suspect that there is probably some variation
between strains. I don't remember their names, but I recall several years ago
mutants in genes starting with H (several different studies and gene names)
were described which differed in the lethality upon heat treratment at
relatively "mild" temperatures.
