I have had limited success with the Amersham fluorescein gene image labelling
and detection kit. I got it to work last Oct but have been unable to repeat it
aswell since. I am using RNA extracted from the yeast (S288C) and the
hybridisation temp. is 42'C, I have also tried the recomended temp of 60-65'C.
The probes seem to bind weakly but there is a lot of background noise.
I would be grateful for any hints or alternative non-radioactive method of
Northerns which not take to long to develop or are cheap.
