Dear Netters,

MIPS now provides a tool on the WWW server that allows direct retrieval
of chromosome sequences of your interest.
You no longer need to get the full length contigs from the FTP sites if you onlywant to look at a particular gene.
Each genetic entity on our WWW server now comes with a link to get the sequence
of the element itself (no flanking sequences). If you wish to get more use the
tool linked to the yeast page:
http://www.mips.biochem.mpg.de/mips/yeast/

This will allow for retrieval of sequence changes also before they appear in
EMBL/GENBANK because our data are updated daily for the Web pages.
(e.g. the ZIP1 gene is now included in our data on the Web!, see chrIV for details)

Regards,

 Karl Kleine
