Yeast Membranes and Cholesterol?

The final product of sterol biosynthesis in yeast is ergosterol which 
represent usualy more than 50 % of total sterol.
Cholesterol has been found in a low amount in outer mitochondrial membrane 
and in inner mitochondrial membrane and microsomes. See Zinser et al. Journal 
of Bacteriology, May 1993, Vol. 175, pp 2853-2858.
