Hi Yeasters,
I'm curently considering attempting an analysis of yeast
populations using FACS; I've been working with S. cerevisiae for the
last couple of years, and I am quite convinced that there are
significant oscillations of population distrubution around the cell
cycle throughout a culturing period. However, I would like to obtian
some hard data to support this, and perhaps do some mathematical
modelling of the possibly fractal nature of this oscillation.
What I am looking for are methods/reagents which would enable
me to stain and fix a synchronised population of cells at different
stages of a culturing period. References are damnedly hard to find if
this is your aim, so any leads or personal experiences would be much
appreciated. Feel free to mail me direct.
Thankyou in advance
