Hello, I am a nyc high school teacher. I wish to teach recombinant
DNA strategies to my students. I had the idea to mutate Saccharomyces
cerevisiae so that when fermented to produce root beer some strains
would produce a sweeter tasting drink as others would produce a more
bitter taste. Do you have any suggestions. I have a beginning
knowledge on how to transform w/LiAc how to mini amd maxi prep how to
recombin DNA and use libraries and shuttle vectors. What I do noit
know is what strain to start with, what region to knock out or
manipulate and if this proposal is possible . Any help you could
offer would be great. Thank you.
