Another thing that can come into play is that even gal+ strains often grow
on galactose poorlyand therefore might perform differently depending on
transformation procedures etc. I strongly recommend for induced conditions
a mix of raffinose and galactose (3:1) as carbon source instead of
galactose alone. That should give your greater reproducibility of results.
