Hi Steven,

I am usually using human cytomegalovirus promoter for foreign gene
expression in S.pombe.
The promoter is 10-fold more active than SV40 promoter.
  (Toyama and Okayama, FEBS 268, 217-221 (1990))
I have successfully produced various proteins at a high level (max. 50% of TP).
