Dear Greg,
yeast extract/peptone medium contains small amounts of carbohydrates
(e.g. about 0.02% glucose). However, the yeast cells are also capable of
using other components of the medium as (respiratory) carbon sources. I
suggest that you should use synthetic medium for your investigations as
we do.
